Senate May Ram Copyright Bill

Senate May Ram Copyright Bill (wired.com)

Under a proposed law (HR 2391), skipping any commercials or promotional announcements would be prohibited, and Congress might try to push this through during the lame duck session. Doesn’t Congress have anything better to do?

One of the 2 best things about Tivo is the 30-second skip on the remote. If the 30-second skip is taken away, I’ll be very tempted to completely get rid of television. My wife and I have discussed getting rid of television before, but we haven’t done it yet. The loss of the 30-second skip might just be the straw that breaks the camel’s back.
